Better Batteries just hit a huge milestone - surpassing 1000 subscribers!
Sending huge thanks and appreciation to all of my readers and subscribers so far! I am very thankful to have people interested in my thoughts/research and especially those longtime readers leaving likes and giving feedback. Thanks to Substack’s recommendation feature, I’d also like to point out Intercalation Station, TECHtricity, and Due Diligence for passing readers my way to this point.
I started Better Batteries in January of 2022 to share some of my knowledge and stay connected with the world of energy, energy storage, and related industries. Oh boy, has my writing improved since then too. I had little expectation of success so to reach 1000 subscribers is unreal. If I could meet, thank, and talk to every one of you I would, but this will have to suffice. I’ve really branched out to more than just batteries as the title suggests, but things remain mostly tied to batteries as I’m sure you’ve noticed.
It’s really cool to catch some momentum and have some regular readers of the newsletter too. I plan to keep things going with once a week articles and hopefully keep improving writing, research, and presentation quality. If you know anyone else who you think would be interested, you can share Better Batteries with them!
If you’re curious about me, I did my masters thesis on sodium-ion batteries and currently work full time on solid-state batteries. Both have tremendous potential in the future in my opinion. My other personal interests are also in economics and a wide range of global energy news which provides the backbone for this newsletter.
I never truly know which articles garnish the most attention, my most popular article of the year so far is Bye-Bye Bolt, which I opine on the news of the Chevy Bolt being discontinued and the increasing trend of larger/more expensive cars in the US.
Some articles are naturally more fun to write than others. My absolute favorite piece of the year so far is a tough choice, but I’d go with the first piece from my debt series. In it, I discuss the growing debt burden facing the US which has been increasing regardless of political party and how rising interest is a burden unsustainable for the US, meaning the future is predictable.
You can visit all of my past articles anytime by visiting the archive. I hope you all have a wonderful week and enjoy my articles to come! We’ll be back to the regular scheduled programming next Wednesday. Until then,
-Grayson
